OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Turn on the gauge, set it to ZERO, and reset it.
Next, insert the PDTools Superabrasives bar into the clamps on the guide rail and position the zeroed goniometer on the dedicated platform. Use the adjustment mechanism to set the angle to match the manufacturer’s recommendations for your knife.
Choose the abrasive:
• Select the appropriate grit size of your PDTools Superabrasives based on the condition of the blade. For instance, start with a coarser grit to repair damage, then switch to a finer grit for polishing.
Sharpening process:
• Hold the machine and the knife steadily, then gently move the guide with the stone along the blade, applying even pressure across the entire cutting edge.
• Maintain a consistent direction and force to ensure uniform sharpening.
• Repeat this process with progressively finer grits to achieve a sharper, smoother edge, turning the knife over periodically.
Cleaning and maintenance:
• After sharpening, rinse the whetstones to remove any residual abrasive and debris.
• Keep the machine clean and dry, storing it in a dry place after use.
